Another Wonderful Fancy Food Show

Submitted by on February 3, 2014 – 5:30 pm
Recently we left the cold, grey weather of an Oregonian winter for the unseasonably sunny and warm skies of San Francisco, as it was once again time for the famous Winter Fancy Food Show. Held in the sprawling Moscone Center, the FFS is the west coast’s largest specialty food and beverage show, featuring 1,300 vendors from 35 countries, offering over 80,000 products. Let’s just say that was a lot of sampling!.
Armed with jar upon jar of every Oregon Growers product possible, along with a whole lot of business cards, brochures, sell sheets, and smiles, we were ready for three intensive days of the specialty food world. We saw many old friends and loyal customers, and were fortunate to make a number of new ones along the way.
If you were lucky enough to be there and swing by our booth, you could have sampled any one of our products, including the rare and very seasonal Honeycomb. That disappeared quickly since it’s such a hard-to-find treat. Not only that, we paired our Quince Fruit Pate with an aged Manchego cheese, highlighting how well the two go together. Some weren’t aware that the fruit pates are naturally perfect pairings with cheese. If you’re ever unsure which cheese to pick for which fruit pate, worry no more– we offer extensive suggestions on each of the product pages. An easy way to impress your guests with a simple cheese plate!
Other companies and products from Oregon were extremely popular this year, so our state pride was shining throughout the show. From coconut ice cream to artisan chocolates to fine cheeses and rich charcuterie, Oregon is definitely offering something for everyone. We know we couldn’t make the exceptional jams, preserves, and condiments that we do without the outstanding ingredients grown chiefly in our home state.
We had such a lovely time meeting and visiting with so many great people. Thank you all for making our eighth Fancy Food Show one to remember! We hope to hear from you again soon.
